Purchase Agreement
Official puppy purchase agreement — Prime Pawline Co.
Puppy Purchase Agreement
Below are the terms that govern the purchase of a puppy from Prime Pawline Co. This agreement is entered between Prime Pawline Co (the Seller) and the Buyer at the time of reservation.
Breeds covered
1. Seller obligations
Prime Pawline Co agrees to:
- Deliver a healthy puppy with a veterinary health certificate issued within 48 hours of pickup
- Provide a complete and up-to-date vaccination record
- Provide an official pedigree (when applicable)
- Ensure the puppy is fully dewormed
- Place the puppy with a registered microchip
- Provide USDA-compliant travel documentation when required
- Share honest, complete information about the puppy's health, temperament, and breed needs
- Provide ongoing post-purchase support
2. Buyer obligations
The Buyer agrees to:
- Provide a safe, clean, species-appropriate home for the puppy
- Feed the puppy high-quality, breed- and age-appropriate food
- Take the puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 7 days of arrival
- Maintain the vaccination schedule and annual wellness exams
- Never abandon the puppy or surrender it to a shelter — contact Prime Pawline Co first if circumstances change
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local animal welfare laws
Animal welfare clause
If the Buyer is ever unable to keep the puppy, they must contact Prime Pawline Co first. We commit to helping rehome the puppy to a qualified new home. Abandonment or surrender to a shelter without contacting us constitutes a material breach of this agreement.
3. Health guarantee
The health guarantee terms are as follows:
- Initial veterinary check (7 days): The Buyer must take the puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 7 days of arrival. If the vet identifies a serious pre-existing condition, the Seller will fully refund the purchase price (including transport) upon return of the puppy
- 2-year hereditary disease guarantee: The Seller guarantees the puppy for 2 years from the date of placement against hereditary genetic disease (hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, PRA, heart conditions, and other documented hereditary disease). Diagnosis must be confirmed by two independent veterinarians
- Communicable disease (14 days): If the puppy is diagnosed with a communicable disease within 14 days of arrival, the Seller will refund the purchase price upon return of the puppy
4. Spay/neuter requirement
Unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing, every puppy sold as a pet (not as a breeding dog) must be spayed or neutered:
- Spay/neuter must be completed before 6–12 months of age, per veterinary recommendation
- The Buyer must send the Seller the veterinary spay/neuter certificate within 30 days of the procedure
- Failure to comply voids the health guarantee
- Puppies sold with breeding rights have a different price and require a separate addendum
Why spay/neuter?
Spay/neuter protects your puppy's health (reduces the risk of mammary tumors, pyometra, and prostate disease), prevents unwanted behaviors (marking, escape attempts, hormone-driven aggression), and helps prevent irresponsible breeding that contributes to thousands of surrendered dogs in American shelters every year.
5. No unauthorized breeding
Unless the agreement explicitly grants breeding rights:
- The Buyer shall not use the puppy for breeding or allow reproduction under any circumstances
- Unauthorized breeding constitutes a material breach of this agreement
- In case of violation, the Buyer must compensate the Seller at a minimum of $3,500 per unauthorized litter
- The Seller reserves the right to require the return of the puppy in case of unauthorized breeding
6. Price & payment terms
The financial terms of the purchase are as follows:
- Reservation: A non-refundable deposit of $400 is required to reserve a puppy
- Full payment: The balance must be paid in full before the puppy is released
- Accepted payment methods: Bank transfer, Zelle, PayPal, or cash at in-person pickup
- Shipping costs: Transport costs are paid by the Buyer and billed separately
7. Dispute resolution
In the event of a dispute:
- Both parties will first make good-faith efforts to reach an amicable resolution
- If no resolution is reached, the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the appropriate state court in the United States
- This agreement is governed by the laws of the state where Prime Pawline Co operates, along with applicable federal animal welfare law
Contract execution
This agreement is executed in duplicate at the time of reservation. Both parties receive a signed copy. A digital copy is also sent by email for archiving. Signing this agreement is a prerequisite for puppy placement.
